"Were You There" for solo string instrument and piano
"Were You There" for solo string instrument and piano
$8.00
A roughly 3-and-a-half minute arrangement of the Afro-American spiritual tune, "Were You There" (when they crucified my Lord), suitable for a communion or instrumental offertory. This arrangement features a simple solo violin, viola, or cello, with a relatively easy, flowing, Liszt-style piano accompaniment.* There is one brief passage of more virtuosic playing for the soloist, but ossias for younger players (or young-at-heart-players that are short on practice time).
*The Liszt-style accompaniment is similar to the beginning of his etude, "Un Sospiro," (sweeping arpeggios divided between the 2 hands).
